Working 28 years for the company But the gold toothed bosses don't recognise me No appreciation for my loyalty Well they don't even know my name Working 28 years for the company Will I ever be secure financially? I don't know, gonna have to wait and see But I don't wanna be here for life Because good hard work won't get you anywhere these days It's all who you know that will guarantee your bonus pay Backstabbing bastards been doing it all their lives They're gonna put profit people every time Working 38 years for the company But the greedy bean counters don't care about me I'm just a number a commodity And they'll run me into the ground Working 38 years for the company Wonder if I'll ever know what it means to be free Life on autopilot is monotony And I'm at the end of my rope Cause it's a different story for us down here on the coal face It don't matter to them, we can be replaced Cause when it's all good the suits all get their kicks But when it turns south the workers get the flick Working 48 years for the company But the sharks in suits don't give a shit about me Dedicated to this place for half a century And they'll kick me out when I'm done Working 48 years for the company I'm the bitter old man I said I'd never be My back is crooked and I'm weak in the knees I can't stand another day in this hell Working too damn long for the company Years that I've missed in this factory No time for women or for family And I don't wanna die alone Working too damn long for the company Please son don't let yourself turn out like me I've wasted my life for someone else's money And in the end it ain't worth shit.

Something 02:42
Images on the evening news Of war famine heartache and abuse Everybody's only out for themselves And i just wanna see Just a little bit of human kindness To take away all the worry and the mess Just give me something else To put my mind at ease This fighting and division It's killing my optimism! So give me something I can smile about Give me something I can laugh about Give me something I can feel good about Cause right now! I don't see nothing But a bleaker picture of tomorrow Don't tell me it's alright Cause the images still keep me up at night And I'm trying hard to push them out But they're stuck inside my mind The things I hear them say The action I see everyday It's filling my head with doubt And I can't seem to find A reason to believe you when you say That everythings gonna be ok

Take a look around The world is crashing down Self imploding in a sea of failure Nightmare's coming true Whatcha gonna do? Scratching your head wondering who's gonna save ya Market freefall Gonna destroy us all Don't tell me nobody saw it coming Major CEOs Claim they didn't know Shit hit the fan and now they're running But when I turn on my TV Bright lights and pretty colours captivate me The commercials say everything will be OK If you just don't worry about it Cover up the truth It don't concern you We'll fix the problem just go about your business Those responsible Need a hand so you'll Bail them out with your tax dollars Slash the prices To make you buy this Spoil yourself and put a smile on your face Global credit crunch It caught all of us Spending what we didn't have in the first place

Not living in the big smoke But I'd barely call it remote There's enough things here to see to pass my time Degenerates everywhere Too many to even care There's enough things here to see to pass my time And i could leave here And move to a better place There's too much action A different faction I'm living in the 4215 I'm wondering if I'll make it out alive Some live in fear, they'll stay inside Cause I'm living in the 4215 Another night another homicide Lets go outside and watch the neighbours fight In the 215 Juveniles and high school delinquents Assaulting another victim They're far too young to be charged with a serious crime Messages scrawled at night on the wall In banners 10 feet tall The spellings all wrong but it's pleasing to the eye And all the homeless Are looking for another place There's too much action A different faction Some say that They're gonna leave it They'll go down with a town that's bleeding I see it As a show That controls our ego Street dealers Push their drugs Council members don't care they'll sit and shrug Keep your head down and you just might survive You might survive In the 2 1 5

She's all dressed up Like a Christmas tree with plastic tinsel I can't tell where the girl begins and the make up ends She's all messed up Cause her sweet little heart has been broke like crystal She might look fine but in her own mind she's going round the bends She never used to look so sad Sometimes I wonder Whatever happened to the girl next door She never used to wanna dress like a whore But she's spent one too many lonely nights Thinking she'll wake up next to Mr Right But all the guys treat her like trash They break her heart while they spend her cash Now she's going nowhere and she's got no friends And once that cycle starts well it never ends She's had it rough And it seems to be getting harder every day Cause life's never easy on you, when you're on your own She looks so tough She thinks that this is the only way The truth is she's just scared and she don't wanna be alone Whatever happened to the girl next door She had a future worth fighting for But her spirit was crushed after countless lies And most of the people never realise That nobody ever said she was loved She hit 20 and she'd had enough The spark in her eyes it faded to a stare She's been through so much now she just don't care Whatever happened to the girl next door She had enough can't take no more Her eyes have cried so many tears She's got so many scars from so few years And everybody knows someone like her Started out so well but took a turn for the worse Just another kid that lost her way It's a pattern that's repeating every day Whatever happened to the girl next door? Whatever happened?

Gridlock 02:35
You can see it, feel it, story of our lives It's all living proof, punctuation's not on time Trying to move forward but we're only moving back Arriving at work constantly under attack There's no right, no left, only detours over there The workman on the stand looking like he just don't care Never a surprise that it moves so slow How many times can they dig up a road? Welcome to gridlock You can't get out there's roadworks in the way This is how we spend our days Welcome to gridlock There's only "A" and "B" you'll hardly see A traffic system on its knees, It'll never run free. Well it's morning and night and all throughout the day Arriving at work constantly under delay Tempers on the edge, our minds are on the fray See it in the news even more road rage Councilors smile when they turn the first soil Then it's four more years of a 20k crawl Never a surprise why it moves so slow How many times can they dig up a road?

When our children's children talk of us, many years from now Will they honour us with words, will our legacy stand proud? Will we be the generation who chose to rise above the rest Or are we the ones who fucked it all and left them with this mess?! Deniers and skeptics will spit their rhetoric And die before they ever feel the shame Of watching their grandchildren playing in radiation suits in the sunshine While their children got to sleep at night cursing their names Will we be the heroes or will we be the villans? We've got a chance to get it right this time Will we be the ones who start a revolution? Or will we be forgotten for an unforgivable crime? We have the technology to make a difference But our leaders take lectures from corporate whores We're choking on oil and blood in the desert 4000 troops are dead and they still want more Kyoto, Copenhagen well you bring forth great ideals And talking it over is all very well But unless we see some action on these Then I'm sorry my friend but we're headed straight to hell! But we'd better start now because we're running out of time
8.
I hear leaders all around Making every kind of sound Locking horns in their debates But it all just sounds the same And I don't partake in their games It's time to step up to the plate Are you ready? Will you stand up for what you know is right Are you ready? To tell everyone what you feel inside Men in suits are taking sides Barking at each other's lies Without listening to what they say Too many speakers take the floor Seems like it's all been said before There's got to be a better way
9.
Well it's not global warming Or over fishing of the sea It's not private ownership Or free economy It's not the threat of terror Or migrants from overseas What people fear the most Is a united minority Well the people in control well they don't want us to be free The don't want us to disturb them They're living comfortably Their propaganda blinds us and they numb us with TV Cause they don't want to deal with a united minority So grab your placards Raise your hands It's time to make our voices heard We'll turn their black hearts Make a stand They will hear our every word Shut em up, shut em down Don't let em speak They'll try anything to convince us that we're weak We've been the victim of constant attacks But if you try to push us 'round Well then we're gonna push back! So here's something to think bout While you try to run us down The world it keeps on turning and opinions turn around And when that day it does arrive A joyous day it'll be Cause that's the day when you will find that you're now the minority We'll drop our placards Raise our fists But we will not repeat your shame We won't let our hearts forget this The world will never be the same
10.
I know the statistics, I've studied the facts We're painted into a corner and there's no turning back But what if for one moment, with our hands on our hearts We decided that we'd begin again and maybe get it right from the start But is it too late, for all of us We've got one last try, it's glory or bust Forget all that they told you We've got the strength we can hold through What are the chances? What are the chances? No way, can't let you give in It might be one in a million But that's still a chance yes, And that's enough for us We can bear the burden, we can take the heat We'll never shout surrender or concede defeat The path of no return, we cannot let them cross But if you're not gonna try, then we've already lost But is it too late? To turn around Seems like forever we've been losing ground Making a stand, is not enough Cause your apathy won't help us any more than giving up
11.
Politicians send us off to war Throw us in the mix with no just cause Send us off to die in foreign lands And when it's over they can wash the blood from their hands Money and fame are powerful tools But so much power is wielded by fools The law protects the rich and elite There's no justice for the people on the street I'm not paranoid I'm just well aware That there's a lot of shit to be concerned about out there Maybe you don't mind Maybe you don't care And that scares the me the most There are people out there who don't give a damn They don't give a fuck about their fellow man They'll take what they want and they think it's ok And they seem to be getting more numerous every day And it scares the hell, yeah it scares the hell And it scares the hell outta me
